Supporting education

Emirates Global Aluminium supports STEM skills development, including by sponsoring students in tertiary education. We are currently sponsoring around 100 UAE Nationals in their university studies in STEM and other fields. Since 2001 we have helped over 400 students get their higher education.

EGA provides scholarships to students to enable them to pursue higher education at university level in subjects relevant to EGA’s current and future talent needs. These fields include mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering and industrial engineering.

Each scholarship student benefits from at least two periods of work experience at EGA during their long vacations, as well as academic guidance from EGA managers in the students’ target departments.

Employees at EGA can also apply for scholarships to obtain additional qualifications in disciplines relevant to their jobs. Staff can study on either a part-time or full-time basis and at local or international universities.

EGA also runs an Ambassador Programme, through which young EGA engineers and professionals engage with students at UAE universities to help them understand the practical applications of their fields and studies in industry.
