Our operations in the UAE and Guinea

EGA operates aluminium smelters in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, an alumina refinery in Abu Dhabi, and a bauxite mine and associated export facilities in the Republic of Guinea.

Our Jebel Ali smelter in Dubai began production in 1979, with eight separate expansions since then. The site is now five times the size of Dubai Mall.

Our smelter in Al Taweelah in Abu Dhabi was the largest single-site aluminium smelter in the world when built. The site is five times bigger than Al Maryah Island.

Al Taweelah alumina refinery, next to our Abu Dhabi smelter, was the first to be built in the United Arab Emirates and only the second in the Middle East.

Guinea Alumina Corporation is a fully-owned subsidiary of EGA, and operates a 690-square kilometre mining concession, and a port at Kamsar on the coast.
