Aluminium producer leverages key global event to showcase industry leadership
United Arab Emirates, 05 May 2015: Aiming to raise the profile of the UAE aluminium industry in the global market, Emirates Global Aluminium ("EGA") is the platinum sponsor and host of the 20th CRU World Aluminium Conference, which takes place from 11 to 13 May 2015 in Dubai. Attracting delegates from around the globe, the annual CRU event is highly respected by the global aluminium industry for its networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities as well as the market-leading aluminium research that is shared by experts at the conference.
EGA has been an active participant in the CRU World Aluminium Conferences for many years; and has previously sponsored and hosted the event in the UAE. EGA's operating subsidiaries Dubai Aluminium ("DUBAL", also known as EGA Jebel Ali) and Emirates Aluminium ("EMAL", also known as EGA Al Taweelah) sponsored the 2009 conference in Dubai and the 2012 conference in Abu Dhabi respectively. The 2015 conference marks the second consecutive year that EGA is the platinum sponsor of the CRU World Aluminium Conference, with the sponsorship entitlement including high profile branding at the event's registration desk.

Total sales in 2014 amounted to 2.309 million tonnes, with the volume set to grow now in 2015 that EMAL Phase II is fully commissioned, bringing EGA to full production capacity."
Prior to the conference, EGA will host a site tour at EGA Al Taweelah for the international delegates from 33 countries. Abdulla Kalban (CEO & MD of EGA), will open the conference keynote session, entitled 'Strategic Challenges' by addressing the major issues faced by the global industry. Yousef Bastaki (Vice President, Major Projects at EGA) will deliver a presentation entitled 'Achievements and challenges of EGA's growth ambition', where he will outline the company's successes in major projects, as confirmed by achieving excellent standards in key performance indicators.
