UAE’s industry flagship showcased abilities and products at world-leading trade show
United Arab Emirates: The position held by Emirates Global Aluminium PJSC (“EGA”) as a global leader in the aluminium industry was showcased when the UAE-based aluminium giant made its début as a single entity at the ALUMINIUM 2014 10th World Trade Fair & Conference, staged in the German city of Dusseldorf from 7 to 9 October.
The three-day event – the world’s leading trade show and B2B platform for the aluminium industry – provided the perfect platform for EGA to create awareness and promote the brand of the new business entity. The show also allowed EGA to promote its wide range of high-quality products and advanced technologies to the European market.
“With nearly a quarter of the metal produced by DUBAL and EMAL in 2013 shipped to the region alone, Europe is a major market for us,” said Walid Al Attar (Chief Marketing Officer at EGA). “Our presence at the Dusseldorf show gave us the opportunity to liaise with existing customers, consolidate and build on our long-standing relations, and explore future potential in the European market. In addition, we were able to able to network with other exhibitors and potential customers, explore the possibility of new suppliers through our supply chain department and underline our position as the Middle East’s premier producer of high-quality metal.”
Jointly owned by Mubadala Development Company of Abu Dhabi and the Investment Corporation of Dubai, EGA was formed through a combination of the shareholders’ respective aluminium industry assets. Its core operating assets – Dubai Aluminium PJSC (“DUBAL”) and Emirates Aluminium Company Limited PJSC (“EMAL”) – have participated at previous World Trade Fair & Conference events. With a combined hot metal production capacity of 2.4 million tonnes per year, EGA ranks among the top five primary aluminium producers in the world.
