Award ceremony held to acknowledge employees serving 25 years
United Arab Emirates: Emirates Global Aluminium (“EGA”) honoured 54 employees, each of whom celebrated 25 years’ service this year, at a formal dinner held at The Address Hotel, Dubai, on Tuesday 11 November 2014. The occasion served to acknowledge the dedication and commitment of both celebrants and their spouses in reaching the remarkable milestone, with the presentation of certificates and gifts providing tangible evidence of the company’s appreciation.
The annual ceremony was the eleventh of its kind to take place since the inaugural event coincident with the 25thanniversary of one of EGA’s core subsidiaries, Dubai Aluminium (“DUBAL”) in 2004. This year’s awardees, who joined the company in 1989, brought the total number of EGA employees honoured for celebrating a quarter century of continuous service to 524.
Abdulla Kalban (Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer) paid tribute to the awardees during the event. “All of tonight’s award recipients have contributed significantly to EGA’s growth and success over the years,” he said. “When they joined us 25 years ago, our business was still in its infancy. Today EGA ranks among the top five primary aluminium producers in the world; and the UAE is the world’s fourth largest primary aluminium producer. None of this would have been possible without our employees, who are our most valuable asset.”
Speaking on behalf of the 2014 award recipients, Masood Taleb Al Ali (Executive Vice President: Supply Chain) expressed heartfelt thanks to EGA. “It is a pleasure to work for a company such as EGA that continuously invests in its employees. We have all benefitted from skills development and competency training throughout our careers and this has helped us become the professional, accomplished team that we are today. The standards of excellence which are EGA’s minimum performance level underscore our passion to be the best; and have placed our company firmly at the forefront of the global aluminium sector.”
