Ziad Fares

Ziad Fares is a Board Member of GAC and currently the Acting Chief Finance Officer and Director of Strategy & Business Intelligence at EGA. Mr Fares joined EGA in 2015, following which he was appointed as the Chief Finance Officer of GAC from 2019 – 2021.

Mr Fares has over 17 years of experience working in Oil & Gas, Metals & Mining, Finance & Strategy; specializing in value creation initiatives including decarbonization, innovation and greenfield growth projects and strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and acquisitions; first joining Schlumberger in 2006 as a Field engineer and then as a location manager until 2012. Following this he worked at Booz & Company as an Associate from 2012 – 2013 and with The Boston Consulting Group from 2003 to 2015.

Mr. Fares has a degree in electrical engineering and Master of Science in Automation and Control from Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité (Supélec) Paris, FRANCE; a degree in Electromechanical engineering from Ecole Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Beyrouth – Saint-Joseph University Beirut, LEBANON in addition to a Diploma in Economics & Risk Analysis of Upstream Projects from Institut Francais du Petrole – France.
