Opportunities for students

Emirates Global Aluminium assists selected students to achieve their educational goals through our scholarship programme. On completion of their studies, these students then join EGA.

Scholarship programme

EGA has sponsored more than 400 students through education since 2001. 

To be considered for a scholarship, a student must be studying a subject relevant to EGA’s current and future skills needs. These disciplines are principally:

• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Chemical Engineering
• Industrial Engineering

The main institutions where we support students are United Arab Emirates University, the American University of Sharjah, the University of Sharjah, Khalifa University and the Higher Colleges of Technology.

Scholarship students can benefit from at least two periods of work experience at EGA during their long vacations, as well as academic guidance from managers in the students’ target departments.

Internship Programme

EGA’s Internship Programme operates in close cooperation with universities and colleges to provide opportunities for students to complete the practical training components of their course curricula. Each internship student has a development plan to ensure key learning objectives are achieved.

Criteria:

• UAE National (Valid UAE passport)
• A GPA of 3.0 and above
• Not already sponsored by any organization
• Studying a major related to EGA’s core business

Summer Training 

EGA provides business exposure and work experience opportunities to high school and university students over the summer period. Participants are assigned to an area relevant to the discipline of their studies and are paid for their work.

Criteria:

• UAE National (Valid UAE passport)
• Open to high school (Grade 10+) and university students
• Not already sponsored by any organisation
• High school students with 75% and above for school students
• Preference given to university students with a GPA of 3.00 and above
