EGA to sponsor Dubai Sports World 2018
EGA to sponsor Dubai Sports World 2018
United Arab Emirates, 09 May 2018: Emirates Global Aluminium, the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside oil and gas, today announced that it is to sponsor Dubai Sports World this summer.
Dubai Sports World, organised by Dubai World Trade Centre in association with the Dubai Sports Council, will convert the Sheikh Saeed Halls and Arena into a massive indoor sports arena, providing visitors with the opportunity to stay fit and healthy despite the temperatures outside.
The venue spanning 25,000m² of air-conditioned space will offer a variety of sports, academies and competitions for fitness enthusiasts of all ages. This includes everything from football and rugby to basketball, badminton, tennis, volleyball, cricket, table tennis, cycling and fitness studios, a 400-meter running track, and a state-of-the-art gym.
Abdulla Kalban, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of EGA, said: “One of the characteristics of the aluminium industry is that production never stops, so we have learned a lot over the decades about keeping our own people fit and healthy during the UAE summer. Dubai Sports World plays an important role in keeping the whole community fit and healthy, and that is why we have chosen to support it.”
Dubai Sports World will run from 17th May to 8th September.
EGA’s more than 7,000 employees in the UAE will be encouraged to use the facilities to participate in their favourite sports, with more than 200 hours of free access available. EGA has sports clubs for staff ranging from tennis to basketball and yoga.
EGA also sponsored Dubai Sports World in 2017, which saw over 300,000 visitors.
