Investment reflects corporate commitment to promoting development of the UAE
United Arab Emirates, 13 April 2016: Reflecting a corporate commitment to make a positive impact in the communities where it operates, Emirates Global Aluminium (“EGA”) has announced its repeat Gold Sponsorship of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which returns to Abu Dhabi’s IPIC Arena in Zayed Sports City from 15 to 24 April 2016. Organised by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, the Championship will deliver ten days of unmatched action and family attractions in an event that has become a pillar of the UAE and wider region’s sports calendar. This is EGA’s second sponsorship of the annual event, having been Gold Sponsor in 2015.
Commenting on EGA’s ongoing collaboration with the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Abdulla Kalban (MD & CEO) said, “In line with EGA’s pledge to invest in the social and economic development of the UAE, we are delighted to be one of the main supporters of this high profile sporting event. By building sustainable, trust-based relationships with our partners such as the Federation, EGA helps build a stronger Emirati community. Sporting activities within our communities, such as this Championship, provide excellent platforms for achieving the country’s strategic goal of healthy and happy citizens.”
EGA is also a longstanding supporter of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic golf tournament, having this year sponsored the event for 25 consecutive years; and sponsored the Omega Dubai Ladies’ Masters golf tournament for the 10th time in 2015. These tournaments, like the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, also play a key role in promoting the UAE as one of the major sports destinations in the region while strengthening EGA’s reputation as a responsible business.
