Ahmed Yahia Al Idrissi

Ahmed Yahia Al Idrissi has been a board member of EGA since EGA’s formation in 2014. He is the Chief Executive Officer, Direct Investments at Mubadala Investment Company, with oversight of the company’s life sciences, technology, consumer, energy, chemicals, industrial and financial services portfolios.

Mr. Al Idrissi also serves as a board member of GlobalFoundries and PCI Pharma Services

Prior to joining Mubadala, Mr. Al Idrissi was a Partner of McKinsey & Company co-leading the Principal Investor practice. He was also the Managing Partner of McKinsey’s Abu Dhabi practice. While at McKinsey, he served a number of Fortune 500 companies, where the central theme of his work was corporate performance transformations, business building and industrial sector development. He has assisted leaders of large corporations, in both North America and the Middle East, drive major performance improvement and business building programs. Specifically, he has worked on issues related to strategy and business building (including acquisitions and post-merger management, divestitures, international expansion and new business development), risk management, operational turnarounds, organisational restructuring and capability building.

Mr. Al Idrissi holds a Master’s degree from MIT in Mechanical Engineering/Product Strategy and an Engineer’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Ecole Centrale Paris, both with highest honors. While at MIT, he received the J. W. F. Foreign Scholarship Board award for academic excellence.
