Learning and development opportunities for EGA employees
Once employees have completed their initial training programmes, development does not stop. Each Emirati employee has a career path, a development plan and a variety of learning and development opportunities to take advantage of.
THE NATIONALS DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
The Nationals Development team looks after the needs of UAE National employees, following up on queries and concerns and monitoring the progress of National Graduates and trainees.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT PLANS
On completion of the National Graduate or National Trainee programmes, employees move into their target positions and are provided with a development plan outlining the courses to be taken, the skills to learn and experience to be gained in order to reach the next step of their careers. The Career Development department, along with area management, formulate the plans and regular progress meetings are conducted to review achievements.
LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT PROGRAMMES
EGA offers competency development workshops and a wide variety of leadership and management development programmes for all employees at all levels within the organisation. These include programmes accredited by City & Guilds of London and the Institute of Leadership and Management (“ILM”).
Internal and external training is provided to employees to help them learn the technical competencies required for their current and future roles.
Opportunities exist for graduates of the National Training Programmes to enhance their technical qualifications through completion of accredited certificate, diploma and degree level programmes whilst holding down full-time positions within the organisation. The Open Learning unit manages these programmes and provides tutorial and administrative support.
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR EMPLOYEES
Employees at EGA can also apply for scholarships to increase their qualifications in relevant disciplines, either on a part-time or full-time basis, at local or international universities.
